Macromedia Knowledge Base now live.

Those of you who where at the MAX Community Pit know that Macromedia worked on a new Knowledge Base, a completely new interface for MM technical documentation such as Technotes and Dev Center articles. It just went live last night.

Quoting John Dowdell:
"Two things I really like are:

(a) existing metadata in technotes is
used behind-the-scenes in a topic taxonomy… enter a broad search term
like "CSS" and the Knowledge Base will suggest drill-down topics while displaying the number of documents
available in each subcategory;
(b) for individual documents, the
pagerank mechanism will be the number of prior searches which stopped
at that document (rather than Google’s default "number of inbound
links" weighting). Both the knowledge tree and the search-satisfaction weighting will improve over time…
this system does a type of learning about how documents relate, and
which documents people find of most value"
