Having a blog = free Macromedia goodies?

with 5 comments

Macromedia CentralI was working on-site at a client for the past two months, so I hadn’t been in the office since the beginning of 2004. I read the postings from the Central Community about the infamous Central tube full of goodies, but didn’t pay much attention to these, since i wasn’t really into Central, nor had i developed a Central application. My only real life experience was beta-testing Ted’s Icon Builder ( well..bugging him through email ).

Yesterday, my first day back in the office, i was really surprised to see a package from Macromedia with the famous tube included. How cool is that? I got the shirt, the posters and the Memory Stick with the SDK on it ( great idea! ), the whole shebang! Also included was a letter from Mike, a thank you note for my contributions to the Flash Community. I started this blog 8 months ago and never thought it was interesting enough to send me free goodies…

Thank you Mike and the Central team! I really appreciate the way you guys work together with the online community on Central. Keep up the good work, and you have a new Central enthusiast, me!

My company gave me some time to invest in new technologies coming from Macromedia ( how cool is that ), so expect some real postings to come!

  1. Welcome to the fold! Once you start digging more into Central, drop me a line and we’ll add you to the official Central Developers Network! 🙂

  2. Thank you David. Well, i’m looking into the AOL presence API, since i’m interested in building a Grid Computing Application in Central, i don’t know if and how that’s possible though. I really like the one-click install process, it reminds me ( and some of our engineers ) of Java Webstart.

  3. I forgot to blog about it, but I got TWO Central tubes. That’s right, TWO. I moved recently and somehow Macromedia kept two different addresses related to my name. So one arrived at my new place and other on my old house – and no, no way I’m going to send it back 😀
